What Is An Intention?
In a nut shell, intentions are promises that we make to ourselves. They are the behaviors or personal changes that we’ve decided are necessary for our personal growth. And because they come from a much deeper and honest place, they feel a lot like pink promises. You so desperately want to fulfill the intentions you intentionally set for yourself. To set an intention is to have a direction in mind.

How To Set Intentions for the Month
Deciding on what your intentions will be is such a thoughtful process. It involves reflecting on your values, your desires, and your vision for your life. It requires you to get still, and be completely honest with yourself which isn’t always easy. Here’s a great place to start:
- Reflect on your values and desires: What is important to you? What do you want to cultivate in your life/in this season?
- Reflect on the previous month: How did you feel? What worked/didn’t work? Did you make decisions based on the intentions you set for yourself last month?
- Visualize yourself living intentionally: Imagine how it would feel to live in alignment with your intention. What does it look like? How does it feel?
- Write it down: Putting your intention into words helps it stick. Writing these down can also help keep you accountable, and is great to have for future reflection
- Keep your intentions visible: Place your written intention somewhere you’ll see it often for quick daily reminders (ex. Fridge, bathroom mirror, etc.)
When writing your intentions down in your journal, be specific, and begin each intention with the words “I will”, or “I intend to”. This is a powerful way to declare what it is that you want, unapologetically.
